Since 2015, Tony and Peter form the duo Brothers In Arts, a common project born from two music lovers. Born in Lyon (France), both DJs and producers, these brothers are passionate about genres such as Nu Disco and Jackin House.
Born in the 70’s and 80’s, our two Frenchies have forged a solid musical culture.
Brothers In Arts love groove, retro sounds and festive sounds, it is in Disco, Funk, Soul and Hip Hop that they draw their inspiration.
Until 2018, several uninfluential projects lead them to change their style and it is in 2019 that they start to enter the world of Nu Disco and Jackin.
Two fateful EPs put them on the map, one on Angelo Ferreri’s ‘Mood Funk Records’ and the second on ‘Groove Culture’, the iconic Italian label founded by Micky More and Andy Tee.
They were quickly spotted by Richard Earnshaw, with whom they forged a strong friendship.
He offered them a release on his own label ” Duffnote Records”, and they were then the exclusive guests of the radio show ” I Culture” hosted by Steve Taylor, Richard’s great sidekick.
Several releases are coming out very quickly in 2020.
They will be released on B Club Milano, Juiced Music, CRMS Records, Peppermint Jam, NDYD Records and Tropical Disco Records, where their first vinyl will be pressed.
Full of bounce, most of their releases quickly found their way into the Traxsource top charts.
That same year, the track “The Bad Habits” released on Fran Deeper’s label “Spa In Disco” propelled them to number 1 on the Traxsource Nu Disco Top.
A few weeks later, they hit number 1 on the Traxsource Top 100 Jackin House chart with the track “The Friendship Links” in collaboration with Makito and a deep affinity was created with him.
The Brothers In Arts perform very little on stage, they still manage to covet the booths of the Terminal, Le Petit Salon and ensure a residency at the Modjo that will last a few months.
2021 seems to be a success for them, many projects are completed, notably collaborations with singers such as Filippo Perbellini and Coree Mathews, but also with the bassist Cosentino. They will be found on labels such as See-Saw, run by Igor Gonya and Super Spicy Records, the label of Monsieur Van Pratt.
Once again they will take the top spot in the Traxsource Top Nu Disco with the track ‘What’s Wrong’ released on Tropical Disco Records, the English label of Moodena and Sartorial.
They will also take over the top spot on the Traxsource Top Jackin House with the track “Long Story Short” on the Australian label Safari Music.
This year also saw their appearance on Midnight Riot Records, Yam Who?’s label, as well as on Good Stuff Recordings, owned by J&M Brothers.
The Brothers In Arts were now in demand from all sides. During the lockdown they released a number of podcasts and appeared on several international radio stations such as Feverball held by Ladies on Mars, Stephen Richards’ Discodaze, Midnight Riot Radio presented by Yam Who?, Brixton Radio Special Tropical Disco Show, guest on Spa Mix on Spa In disco, but also on Radio Milano International.
They are currently resident on Goody Music Radio every Wednesday afternoon. All these shows can be found on their Soundcloud and Mixcloud.
